Dr. Aghil Soorya A is a dedicated academic and researcher with a passion for botany and phytochemistry.

Currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Guest) in the Department of Botany at Sacred Heart College, Thevara since 2024, she combines her teaching expertise with a deep commitment to research.

 

FIELD OF EXPERTISE

Phytochemical and pharmacological properties of plants, particularly in their medicinal applications. Additionally, her research delves into computer-aided drug design, molecular docking, and molecular modeling, contributing valuable insights into plant-based drug development.

 

EXPERIENCE

Over 4 years of experience in teaching and research of undergraduate and postgraduate courses as Assistant Professor (Guest) at Sacred Heart College, Thevara, and St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam. She has successfully guided 2 postgraduate (PG) projects and 13 undergraduate (UG) projects. Her academic journey is highlighted by her contributions to both national and international academic platforms.

She has served as the Coordinator for the Teresian Instrumentation and Consultancy Centre (TICC) and the Addon Course offered by the Department of Botany, ensuring smooth operations, resource allocation, and academic excellence. She has acted as the Staff Advisor for the Botany Association, overseeing activities, organizing events, and mentoring students. She had taken charge of various clubs at St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, leading student initiatives, promoting extracurricular activities, and ensuring a balanced academic environment.

Her diverse roles have not only enhanced her teaching and research abilities but also developed her leadership, organizational, and mentoring skills. she is committed in contributing to the academic community and nurturing future leaders in the field of Botany.
